The
LEAD Center programs and services are designed to build the leadership capacity of educational leaders involved in reconceptualizing public schooling in our democratic society. We use the word “reconceptualizing” because the work is deep and challenging, requiring skilled, passionate, collaborative leaders with outstanding communication skills. The Center supports the work of schooling in four key areas:
Comprehensive
schools working toward
the establishment of small, personalized learning communities;
Small schools of choice created
by dedicated groups of parents, teachers and community
members;
Coherence of effort amongst school district leadership, school site leadership and the school community;
Building leadership capacity for emerging teacher and administrator leaders.
Theory of Action
Powerful teaching and learning requires skillful, committed teachers and administrators who focus on a limited number of essential learning standards, use a broad diversity of student data to guide teaching and learning on a daily basis, and work with students in a respectful way that holds themselves and every student accountable to master these standards.
The LEAD Center is an approved California District Assistance and Intervention Team (DAIT) provider. |
